Senior Software Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a product-focused engineering group that builds and maintains customer-facing applications and services. You will work closely with product managers, designers, architects, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and engineering managers to ship features that deliver consistent, measurable value to end users. A core part of this role is using AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude Code to speed up delivery, improve code quality, and deepen your understanding of complex systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and own high-quality software features end-to-end, from technical design through deployment and support.
• Uphold engineering best practices by participating in code reviews, writing unit tests, and engaging in peer programming sessions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to create robust software architectures and translate customer requirements into clear technical designs.
• Balance competing priorities, including new feature development, defect resolution, and technical debt reduction, to maintain a healthy product roadmap.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies such as story refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives, ensuring work is well-defined and achievable.
• Promote a fail-fast, learn-quickly culture that encourages responsible experimentation and continuous improvement.
• Work with modern microservice architectures and support the design, development, and maintenance of REST APIs and related tools.
• Partner with DevOps engineers to build, refine, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and ensure smooth delivery across environments.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 8–12 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on Java and enterprise application development.
• Deep hands-on expertise with Java 8, 11, and 17+, including modern language features and best practices.
• Strong working knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security in production systems.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting REST APIs and microservice-based architectures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and working in an Agile development environment.

Nice to have:

• Experience building AI-powered applications or intelligent automation solutions.
• Experience developing products that leverage Generative AI capabilities.
• Hands-on familiarity with GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar AI-assisted engineering tools.
• Experience working with API management platforms.
• Knowledge of MultiValue databases such as UniData.
