Senior Associate - Reporting, Data and Analytics Acumen East Or West Africa

Role Overview

This position is the operational data engine behind Green Rise Africa’s impact work. The Senior Associate will spend their days consolidating partner submissions, maintaining dashboards, producing routine indicator reports, and unblocking data quality issues across multiple programme pillars. By keeping every dataset clean, complete, and visible, this role ensures that programme leaders, partners, and funders can make decisions with confidence and track the organisation’s journey towards its 2030 target of placing 443,200 young people in dignified green work.

Working closely with the Impact Manager and the broader MEL team, this role connects the technical world of systems with the practical realities of programme implementation. It is hands-on, but also advisory: you will coach partners on better reporting, recommend how technology can ease the reporting burden, and turn raw numbers into insights that non-specialists can act on. Key Responsibilities

• Own the full reporting cycle for quarterly, biannual, and annual intervals, including indicator-by-indicator actuals-versus-targets comparisons across all pillars.
• Maintain a reliable performance dashboard suite in Salesforce, Power BI, or equivalent platforms, and refresh it continuously so programme leaders always see current status.
• Manage incoming data from multiple partners and countries, running validation checks, cleaning records, consolidating submissions, and returning errors for resubmission before deadlines hit.
• Produce clear visualisations and plain-language summaries of programme results for internal teams, external evaluators, and the Mastercard Foundation.
• Conduct quantitative analysis of programme data, disaggregating by gender, age, geography, sector, and partner to identify performance gaps, emerging risks, and strong progress areas.
• Implement and enforce standardised data quality protocols—validation rules, cleaning checklists, audit trails, and documentation—and lead quarterly data quality reviews with partners.
• Build the capacity of both partner organisations and internal staff by creating training materials and providing direct guidance on MEL systems, data collection tools, and reporting standards.
• Coordinate with the Finance team to integrate financial and impact data, including support for Impact Linked Finance and value-for-money analysis.
• Document lessons, maintain knowledge management systems, and ensure qualitative and quantitative evidence is ready for learning reviews and evaluations.

Requirements & Qualifications

• At least five years of professional experience in data analysis, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) within an international development or comparable multi-country setting.
• Proven experience managing the full data lifecycle across multiple partners: receiving submissions, cleaning, consolidating, validating, and reporting—with particular attention to timeliness and accuracy.
• Strong command of data analysis and visualisation tools such as Excel, Power BI, SPSS, Stata, R, or Python, and comfort learning new tools quickly.
• Hands-on familiarity with digital data collection and management systems like Salesforce, Airtable, KoBoToolbox, CommCare, SurveyCTO, or equivalents.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain operational dashboards, databases, or reporting tech products that support MEL workflows.
• Solid grasp of data protection principles, including consent, storage, retention, and security requirements, and the discipline to document every change to source data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain data findings and technical concepts to both experts and practitioners.
• Comfort working in a matrix-managed, multi-country environment with shifting priorities and multiple stakeholders.
• Formal training in M&E, statistics, information systems, project evaluation, or a related field is a strong plus.
• Experience with youth employment, green growth, gender inclusion, enterprise development, or private sector development programmes is desirable.
• Familiarity with Impact Linked Finance, SROI, cost-benefit analysis, or Value for Money techniques will stand out.
• Interest in or exposure to AI-enabled tools, automation, and emerging technology for MEL is highly desirable.
• Prior experience preparing datasets for external evaluations or coordinating multi-stakeholder reporting processes is an added advantage.
• Relevant experience in East or West Africa is a plus.
