Job Description

Role Overview

You will shape how CBM's Inclusive Health Initiative communicates its progress and impact, coordinating messages across multiple programmes and a wide network of partners. At the same time, you will manage the entire lifecycle of scholarship programmes—from advertising opportunities and processing applications to onboarding trainees and maintaining relationships with academic institutions. This dual focus ensures that both the story of the initiative and the practical support for scholars run smoothly, strengthening the overall effectiveness of disability-inclusive health work across several countries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a comprehensive communications strategy for the Inclusive Health Initiative, aligning activities across partner programmes and internal teams.
  • Produce a steady flow of high-quality communications materials—case studies, website articles, social media posts, and internal updates—that highlight programme milestones and real-world impact.
  • Coordinate with programme staff to create thought leadership pieces and external publications that position CBM's work in disability-inclusive health as a model for the sector.
  • Manage the full scholarship cycle: drafting calls for applications, tracking submissions, organising selection panels, issuing offers, and handling documentation and onboarding for each cohort.
  • Serve as the primary link between scholarship recipients, training institutions (universities and vocational centres), government contacts, and CBM country teams, ensuring clear and timely communication.
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records of all scholarship activities—databases, contracts, academic progress reports, and financial documentation—to support reporting and accountability.
  • Support programme teams with internal communications, helping them share lessons learned and best practices across the broader CBM network.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, International Development, or a closely related field.
  • At least seven years of professional communications experience, ideally within international development, health, innovation, or entrepreneurship contexts.
  • Proven track record of producing external-facing communications—such as reports, articles, or social media campaigns—that engage diverse audiences.
  • Strong editorial and writing skills in English, with the ability to craft clear, compelling narratives from complex programme data.
  • Experience working with multi-stakeholder partnerships or programmes; familiarity with scholarship or education administration is a plus.
  • Competence in digital communications platforms, social media management, and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, WordPress, Adobe Suite, or similar).
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across cultures and time zones.
  • Demonstrated commitment to disability inclusion and safeguarding principles, aligned with CBM's mission.
  • Identification with the Christian values and mandate of CBM as an organisation.

What We Offer / Why Join
