Role Overview
This position puts you in charge of a field-based sales team whose core job is growing a healthy loan book — not just writing volume, but writing business that performs. You will spend your week in the field and in the numbers: rallying agents around daily targets, sitting in on customer conversations, and reviewing portfolio reports to catch repayment risk before it turns into a loss. The employer depends on this role to turn market opportunity into sustainable revenue while keeping credit quality and collections firmly under control.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the pace for the team by assigning targets, running regular performance check-ins, and keeping morale and momentum high through coaching rather than pressure alone.
- Grow and protect a quality loan portfolio, balancing new disbursements against repayment performance and arrears levels.
- Recruit, onboard, train and mentor Sales Agents, building a pipeline of people who can step into bigger responsibilities over time.
- Accompany agents on customer visits to observe pitch quality, verify borrower information, and give on-the-spot feedback.
- Track portfolio and collections performance through reports and dashboards, acting quickly on early warning signs of delinquency.
- Read the local market continuously — identifying untapped segments, competitor activity and referral sources, and converting those findings into leads.
- Consistently hit and surpass agreed sales targets while holding the team to the same standard.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Degree in a business-related discipline such as marketing, finance, management, economics or a comparable field.
- At least two years of experience leading a sales team, ideally in a lending, financial services or field-sales environment.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, both individually and through a team.
- Strong leadership presence — able to motivate, hold people accountable and develop raw talent into consistent performers.
- Clear communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to handle difficult customer conversations around repayment.
- Results-driven mindset paired with genuine relationship-building ability; customers should trust you enough to refer others.
