Role Overview
This role is focused on expanding the market presence of an animal nutrition and agricultural commodity supplier across Kenya’s Central, Western, and Rift Valley regions. You will be the main link between the company and livestock producers as well as feed processing businesses, turning initial interest into consistent orders. Your work directly supports regional growth and strengthens the company’s ties within the agricultural community.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and follow a territory plan to uncover new sales opportunities among agricultural producers and feed processors in Central, Western, and Rift Valley.
- Nurture ongoing relationships with current customers to encourage repeat purchases and long-term loyalty.
- Handle the full sales cycle, from first contact and product presentation through negotiation, order placement, and after-sale support.
- Meet or exceed agreed-upon revenue goals and performance measures.
- Prepare and present quotations, sales contracts, and routine customer activity reports.
- Keep an eye on competitor moves and market shifts, then share useful findings with management.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any customer concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales pipeline in the company’s reporting system.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven background in business-to-business sales or account management, preferably within a manufacturing setting.
- Exposure to animal feed, livestock, or agricultural sales is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional relationships with commercial clients.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of preparing quotations, sales documentation, and customer reports.
- Self-driven and able to work independently while traveling extensively across the assigned territory.
- Working proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages spoken in the regions is beneficial.
- Typically, 2–4 years of relevant sales experience and a diploma or degree in business, agriculture, or a related field.
