Job Description

Role Overview

This field-based role puts you at the centre of the company's push to grow fast-moving consumer goods sales across a Nairobi territory. Most of your week is spent in retail outlets, wholesale points, and distributor stores, where you drive visibility, chase orders, and keep trade relationships productive. What you do on the ground directly shapes how widely the products are stocked, how well they move off shelves, and how consistently revenue targets are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Turn monthly volume and revenue targets into practical daily route plans, then execute those plans across the assigned territory.
  • Seek out new stockists, retail accounts, and distribution partners, and bring them into the company's growing trade network.
  • Check stock levels, arrange displays, and negotiate prime shelf or storage space so products stay visible and accessible to buyers.
  • Carry out scheduled market visits to compare pricing, monitor competitor activity, and gather feedback on what customers are actually buying.
  • Process and track customer orders through to delivery, sorting out shortfalls, delays, or supply issues before they damage the relationship.
  • Handle price and supply negotiations with buyers, including following up on outstanding balances where credit terms apply.
  • Run and support trade promotions, product launches, and merchandising drives in the assigned area.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports, and keep accurate records of customer interactions and market visits.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Proven FMCG sales and marketing experience is required — this is not an entry-level opening.
  • Working knowledge of Kenya's retail and FMCG landscape, including how distributors, wholesalers, and small retailers operate.
  • A demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets, not just participating in the market.
  • Strong face-to-face communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with trade customers.
  • Solid relationship management ability — keeping retailer, distributor, and business partner accounts warm and productive over time.
  • Self-motivated and organised enough to work independently on the road, with the discipline to conduct regular field visits.
  • Practical Microsoft Office skills and the ability to produce accurate sales reports and customer activity records.
  • A valid driving licence is an added advantage.

What We Offer / Why Join

This is a full-time, field-based position with a monthly gross salary of KES 40,000, based in Karen, Nairobi. You will own a territory and see the direct link between your market effort and the sales numbers that follow — prospecting, negotiating, following up on orders, and shaping how products appear in stores. If you want a hands-on selling role with real accountability rather than a desk-bound job, this position is built for that.
