Role Overview
This role helps keep warehouse and yard operations safe by guiding loaders through correct loading and unloading practices and checking that work areas meet QHSE requirements. Through regular safety communication, hazard reporting and close attention to housekeeping, the role supports reliable day-to-day operations and helps prevent incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Show loaders how to carry out loading, unloading and empty offloading activities safely.
- Attend daily Tier 1 meetings, maintain full attendance and raise relevant QHSE concerns or observations.
- Submit SIRC cards during every shift to report unsafe acts and conditions.
- Monitor work practices and site conditions, taking action to prevent hazards and unsafe behaviour.
- Check that employees wear required personal protective equipment and follow safety procedures.
- Promote consistent application of 5S in warehouse and operational areas.
- Support the enforcement of QHSE requirements and safe working practices throughout the warehouse.
- Check that goods are stacked correctly and that gangways, fire points and emergency exits remain clear; report near misses immediately.
Requirements & Qualifications
- KCSE certificate and at least a diploma.
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
- At least two years’ experience in FMCG operations, with broad exposure to warehouse and related tasks.
- At least two years’ experience in loading and unloading operations.
