Job Description

Job Description

AMI is hiring a highly driven and execution-focused Project Lead to lead the delivery of the CAYACC Program. This role will be responsible for translating program strategy into high-quality execution, ensuring strong coordination across partners, effective delivery on the ground, and robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning.

The Project Lead will sit at the center of program implementation—owning planning, delivery, stakeholder engagement, and performance tracking—while working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure impact at scale. This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments and is comfortable balancing strategy with execution.

The ideal candidate is a strong program leader who combines structured thinking with hands-on execution. They are highly organized, data-driven, and able to manage complexity across multiple stakeholders and geographies. They bring a strong sense of ownership, are proactive in problem-solving, and are comfortable operating in dynamic, evolving environments.

Key Responsibilities

Program Strategy, Planning & Delivery

  • Lead the planning and execution of the CAYACC program, translating strategic objectives into clear workplans, timelines, and deliverables
  • Ensure high-quality implementation of program activities across regions, aligned to agreed priorities and outcomes
  • Track program progress against targets, proactively identifying risks and driving corrective action

Field Execution & Coordination

  • Oversee coordination of field activities across program locations, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely delivery
  • Support implementation teams and partners in delivering program interventions effectively
  • Maintain visibility of field operations through structured check-ins, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms

Partnership & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with key partners, including implementing organizations, technical partners, and ecosystem stakeholders
  • Coordinate joint planning and execution with partners, ensuring alignment on roles, expectations, and deliverables
  • Represent the program in stakeholder engagements and external forums where required

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)

  • Drive results-based management across the program, ensuring clear tracking of outputs, outcomes, and impact
  • Oversee data collection, validation, and reporting processes to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Translate program insights into actionable improvements, fostering a culture of continuous learning and adaptation

Performance Management & Accountability

  • Track delivery against program KPIs, budgets, and timelines
  • Establish clear reporting structures and accountability mechanisms across teams and partners
  • Lead regular performance reviews and ensure follow-through on actions and commitments

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams (programs, MEL, finance, operations) to ensure coordinated delivery and compliance
  • Contribute to organizational learning, systems improvement, and program design enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage)
  • 6+ years of experience managing or coordinating development programs, preferably in youth, agriculture, climate, or entrepreneurship sectors
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-stakeholder programs and partnerships
  • Strong experience in program planning, delivery, and monitoring
  • Experience working in regional or multi-country programs is an advantage

Core Competencies

  • Strong program and project management skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and partnership coordination
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Ability to manage execution in complex, fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and facilitation skills
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail
