Role Overview
Q Steel is looking for a Production Engineer to help organise day-to-day manufacturing at its Hamriyah Free Zone facility in Sharjah. You will coordinate people and fabrication work, translate production drawings into clear shop-floor activity, and help keep structural steel jobs moving to schedule and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and coordinate daily production plans for fabrication operations.
- Allocate workers across production tasks and monitor progress and productivity.
- Support the manufacture of both heavy and light structural steel components.
- Check fabrication drawings and clarify production requirements with the relevant teams.
- Coordinate with shop-floor staff to address workflow issues and meet project deadlines.
- Assist with basic job estimates and maintain production-related records and documents.
- Identify practical opportunities to improve production flow and manufacturing efficiency.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Three to four years of relevant experience in production planning, workforce coordination, and structural fabrication.
- Working knowledge of heavy and light structural steel fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings accurately.
- Basic estimation skills; familiarity with AutoCAD and CNC nesting is an advantage.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
