Job Description

Role Overview

You will be embedded in a busy production environment where your primary focus is keeping process equipment running at full capacity. Every shift involves monitoring machinery, responding to faults, and making sure production targets are met without compromising quality or safety. Your attention to detail directly protects the integrity of the final product and keeps the broader team working smoothly under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine reliability inspections and support both planned and unplanned maintenance work to prevent unexpected line stoppages.
  • Track machine performance and availability, then adjust schedules and servicing activities to maximize uptime.
  • Record operational data accurately and communicate key updates to shift leaders, engineers, and relevant stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
  • Run production equipment according to standard operating procedures, making minor process adjustments to maintain high throughput and consistent output quality.
  • Work strictly within safety protocols, ensuring that your own actions and those of the team do not place people, equipment, or the surrounding environment at risk.
  • Coach new hires and trainees on the shop floor, demonstrating correct machinery handling, quality checks, and safety practices.
  • Operate assigned machinery on your own, using sound judgment to resolve minor issues before they escalate and only escalating more complex faults when necessary.
  • Perform regular checks on quality, production output, and business systems, completing all required paperwork and digital records accurately.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Electronic Engineering (or an equivalent technical qualification).
  • At least 2 to 3 years of hands-on process operation experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Availability to work on a 24-hour rotating shift pattern, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Strong computer literacy, including the ability to use production monitoring systems, spreadsheets, and digital reporting tools with confidence.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a practical, troubleshooting mindset, with the ability to identify root causes of equipment faults and process inefficiencies quickly.
