Job Description

Role Overview

As a member of the plant maintenance team, you will keep production lines running by looking after the mechanical, electrical, and control systems that power our automated facility. Your day-to-day focus is preventing downtime before it happens, responding quickly when equipment fails, and working alongside operators to keep output consistent. This role matters because every hour of uninterrupted production directly supports our delivery targets, product quality, and operational cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run and supervise plant equipment during normal operation, checking performance against set parameters and manufacturer guidelines so that machinery runs at optimal capacity.
  • Carry out scheduled inspections on rotating machinery, conveyors, refrigeration units, and electrical panels, looking for signs of wear, misalignment, overheating, or unusual vibration.
  • Perform planned preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, filter replacement, calibration, and torque checks, while also handling emergency repairs when breakdowns occur.
  • Diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using a logical approach, and apply root-cause analysis to stop recurring failures.
  • Use Lockout/Tagout and other safe isolation procedures before any maintenance work, and strictly follow PPE, environmental, and housekeeping rules.
  • Support production by assisting with equipment changeovers, start-ups, shutdowns, and troubleshooting calls from line operators, advising them on correct machine use.
  • Track and reorder spare parts, consumables, and tools, verifying that replacements match technical specifications and keeping the workshop and storage areas organized.
  • Document all maintenance work, equipment history, and fault reports accurately in the CMMS or job card system, and contribute to continuous improvement projects that reduce downtime or energy waste.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering, supported by a recognized trade test certification.
  • PLC and automation certification, with hands-on knowledge of sensors, actuators, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control panels.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in an automated manufacturing, processing, FMCG, cold-chain, or industrial environment, including direct operation and maintenance of production equipment.
  • Familiarity with warehouse machinery, refrigeration systems, or related facility equipment is required.
  • Understanding of office clerical procedures for maintaining records, completing work orders, and preparing maintenance reports.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently under pressure, and proven time management skills.
  • Assertive, organized, and proactive attitude with leadership capability and a track record of meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
