Role Overview

This academic position focuses on delivering high-quality teaching, advancing research, and supporting students within a recognized university department. On a day-to-day basis, you will prepare and deliver lectures across assigned courses, design and mark assessments, advise students on academic progress, and maintain an active portfolio of research and publication. Your work directly supports the university’s mission to produce competent graduates, sustain academic standards, and meet national regulatory expectations for higher education.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials for undergraduate and, where applicable, postgraduate students in your area of specialization.
• Design course outlines, reading lists, assignments, and examinations that align with current disciplinary standards and institutional learning outcomes.
• Assess and grade student work, provide constructive feedback, and record results accurately and within agreed timelines.
• Supervise students’ research projects, dissertations, and theses, offering methodological guidance and scholarly critique.
• Conduct original research, publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, and present work at academic conferences and professional gatherings.
• Contribute to curriculum review and development, ensuring programmes remain responsive to industry needs and academic developments.
• Participate in departmental and faculty activities, including committee work, staff meetings, quality assurance reviews, and community engagement initiatives.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, supporting their intellectual growth and professional preparation.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in the relevant field of specialization from a recognized university; a PhD in the field will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrable teaching experience at university level, with evidence of effective classroom delivery and student assessment.
• Relevant professional and/or industry experience that enriches academic teaching, where applicable to the discipline.
• Evidence of scholarly, research, and/or professional engagement in the area of specialization, such as publications, conference papers, or practice-based output.
• Fulfilment of the applicable requirements of the Commission for University Education (CUE), including academic rank and quality assurance standards, as may be relevant to the position.
• Possession of a valid registration or membership with the relevant professional or regulatory body, where such registration is mandatory for the discipline.
