PYP Homeroom Teacher

Role Overview

The PYP Homeroom Teacher plans and leads a primary classroom where students learn through inquiry, develop key skills, and take an active role in their learning. At The Millennium School in Dubai, the teacher monitors each child’s progress and works with colleagues and families to provide a supportive, inclusive experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a homeroom class and establish routines that support student wellbeing, participation, and positive classroom relationships.
• Plan and teach inquiry-based lessons informed by the Primary Years Programme and students’ learning needs.
• Assess student understanding, keep track of progress, and give clear, constructive feedback.
• Adapt teaching approaches to support individual learners and encourage their continued development.
• Coordinate with teachers, specialists, and other school staff to connect learning across the classroom experience.
• Keep parents informed about student progress and contribute to conferences and other family communication.
• Take part in professional development to strengthen teaching practice.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Valid teaching certification or accreditation.
• Two to three years of teaching experience is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of the PYP, inquiry-based teaching, curriculum planning, classroom management, and student assessment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and tailor instruction to learners’ needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to an inclusive, student-focused classroom.
• Candidates currently based in Dubai or Sharjah will be considered.
