Job Description

Role Overview

You will join the faculty as a university lecturer, delivering undergraduate and postgraduate instruction in your area of expertise. Your day-to-day work combines classroom teaching with meaningful scholarly activity: you will prepare and lead lectures, design assessments, supervise student research, and actively contribute to the department’s academic output through publications and professional engagement. The university relies on you to uphold academic standards and to prepare students for professional practice in the discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials across assigned courses, ensuring curriculum objectives are met and content stays current with industry and research developments.
  • Design, administer, and grade examinations, assignments, and other assessments, providing constructive feedback that supports student progression.
  • Supervise undergraduate projects and, where appropriate, postgraduate dissertations or theses, guiding students through research design, analysis, and writing.
  • Conduct original research and publish findings in recognised academic journals, conference proceedings, or other scholarly outlets relevant to your specialisation.
  • Participate in departmental activities such as curriculum review, academic committees, quality assurance processes, and student academic advising.
  • Engage with professional or regulatory bodies in your field, maintaining registrations and contributing to professional practice where applicable.
  • Support the wider academic community through service roles, mentoring junior faculty, and participating in outreach or industry collaboration initiatives.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in the relevant subject area from an accredited university is required; a PhD in the field is a distinct advantage.
  • University-level teaching experience is essential, with demonstrated ability to teach effectively across undergraduate and, preferably, postgraduate levels.
  • Relevant professional or industry experience will be considered favourably, particularly where it enriches the teaching of applied subjects or professional programmes.
  • A clear record of scholarly activity, including research publications, conference presentations, or equivalent professional contributions, is expected.
  • Candidates must satisfy the academic staff requirements of the Commission for University Education (CUE) and any other applicable regulatory authorities.
  • For professionally oriented disciplines, current registration with the relevant professional or regulatory body is required, or must be obtainable upon appointment.
