Role Overview

This position is for a university academic who will teach and mentor students in a specialized discipline, contributing to both the department's teaching mission and its research output. The day-to-day work is a blend of classroom instruction, student supervision, curriculum development, and scholarly activity, with the expectation that the successful candidate will maintain professional credibility in their field. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the relevant specialization, ensuring content is current and academically rigorous.
• Develop, review, and refine course materials, syllabi, and assessment tools in line with the department's academic standards and quality assurance policies.
• Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and theses, offering constructive feedback on both methodology and written output.
• Plan and administer examinations, mark assignments, and record grades promptly while maintaining academic integrity.
• Conduct original research in the area of specialization, publishing findings in reputable journals and presenting at academic conferences.
• Participate in departmental activities, including staff meetings, curriculum committees, and academic administration tasks as assigned.
• Engage with professional bodies and industry partners to bring practical perspectives into teaching and to foster collaboration opportunities for students.
• Provide academic advising to students, supporting their progression and addressing any learning or administrative issues that arise.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Master's degree in the relevant field of specialization, obtained from a recognized university; a PhD in the same area is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated prior teaching experience at the university level, with an ability to facilitate learning across diverse student groups.
• Relevant professional and/or industry experience in the specialization, particularly where practical application of the subject is important.
• Documented evidence of scholarly output, research activity, or professional engagement directly related to the specialization.
• Qualification standards that align with the requirements of the Commission for University Education (CUE) and any other applicable regulatory bodies in the higher education sector.
• Current registration or membership with the relevant professional or regulatory body, where such registration is a condition of practice for the role.
