Paediatric Clinician

Role Overview

You will join our paediatric team as a dedicated medical doctor, managing the everyday health needs of infants, children, and adolescents across ward and outpatient settings. Your work will directly shape the quality and safety of paediatric care, from first consultations through to treatment and follow-up, while supporting families with clear guidance and reassurance. Day to day, you will balance structured ward rounds, new admissions, and emergency reviews with collaborative decision-making alongside nurses, therapists, and senior paediatricians.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough clinical assessments, reach differential diagnoses, and initiate evidence-based treatment plans for paediatric patients.
• Lead daily ward rounds to review inpatients, track their progress, and adjust care as their condition changes.
• Provide timely assessment and stabilisation of children presenting with acute or urgent conditions, including after-hours and emergency coverage as rostered.
• Communicate empathetically with parents and guardians—explaining diagnoses, medication routines, and home care instructions in plain, accessible language.
• Work closely with paediatric specialists, nurse practitioners, and allied health staff to deliver coordinated, family-centred care.
• Maintain accurate, current medical records, ensuring complete documentation of examinations, investigations, and treatment decisions.
• Participate in continuous professional development, clinical audits, and quality improvement projects to raise the standard of paediatric services.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A valid and current practicing license, with no restrictions, in the country where this role is based.
• A completed MBChB (or recognised equivalent medical degree).
• Postgraduate paediatric training with relevant certification—demonstrating formal specialisation in child health.
• At least three years of proven, hands-on experience in a paediatric or child-health setting at a similar level of responsibility.
• Strong clinical reasoning, diagnostic, and procedural skills appropriate for managing both common and complex paediatric presentations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust with children, families, and cross-disciplinary colleagues.
• A genuine commitment to patient-centred care, ethical practice, and working collaboratively within a team.
