Operations Team Member- Thika

Role Overview

This role supports smooth restaurant service by preparing and presenting food, delivering orders accurately, and helping guests make informed menu choices. It combines front-of-house service with kitchen, cleaning, and sanitation duties to keep meals moving efficiently and the restaurant ready for guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Take guest orders, confirm ticket details, deliver meals neatly and promptly, and present bills and receive payments accurately.
• Check that dishes meet required presentation, temperature, portion, and quality standards before they reach the table.
• Explain menu options, highlight new items, and recommend suitable choices based on guest preferences.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service colleagues about order progress, guest requests, and delays; provide extra support during busy periods.
• Prepare and store food correctly, follow production procedures, and use approved methods for handling ingredients and equipment.
• Keep dining tables, waiter stations, kitchen areas, equipment, and guest and staff washrooms clean and sanitised; use detergents appropriately.
• Restock condiments, manage waste, empty bins, and clean grease traps as required.
• Assist with assigned opening and closing tasks while following food-safety, sanitation, and operating procedures.

Requirements & Qualifications

• At least six months of experience as a certified Java House staff member.
• KCSE certificate with a mean grade of C plain.
• In-house service training.
• Strong customer-care and communication skills, with the confidence to recommend menu items and upsell appropriately.
• Good planning, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Flexible, reliable, responsible, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to work long hours and a genuine interest in hospitality.
