Operations – Investigations and Deployment Officer

Role Overview

This role pairs hands-on investigative work with the planning that keeps operational teams ready to move. On any given week you might be running interviews and logging evidence in one case while simultaneously building a deployment schedule for personnel, equipment, and field resources. The work matters because decisions made here — about what happened, and about who and what goes where — directly shape whether the organisation can respond quickly, stay within the law, and protect the integrity of every case it handles.

Key Responsibilities

• Take the lead on investigations from first report through to closure, including evidence collection, scene and record review, and witness or subject interviews.
• Document interviews, exhibits, and findings in a form that stands up to scrutiny, maintaining accurate case files and audit trails throughout.
• Apply legal, regulatory, and confidentiality requirements at every stage, including handling sensitive material and personal data appropriately.
• Build and adjust deployment plans covering staff, equipment, and other resources, matching allocation to operational demand.
• Assess operational readiness on an ongoing basis and flag risks, shortfalls, or gaps before they affect delivery.
• Coordinate with police, legal advisors, and field units to share information, align on case handling, and support joint activity.
• Produce regular reporting on investigation outcomes, deployment activity, and emerging operational trends for management review.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security Management, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of two years in a comparable role involving investigation, security operations, or resource deployment.
• Confident interviewing and evidence-handling ability, with a clear understanding of evidential standards and confidentiality obligations.
• Strong interpersonal skills for working across police contacts, legal teams, field staff, and internal stakeholders.
• Sound risk judgement — able to weigh competing priorities and recognise when a situation needs escalation.
• Practical, hands-on approach and willingness to operate directly in the field rather than only from a desk.
• Organised reporting habits and comfort managing several active cases or deployments at once.
