Role Overview

This position delivers nursing care through virtual channels, acting as a first point of contact for patients who need clinical guidance without an in-person visit. Day to day, the nurse assesses symptoms, reviews medical histories, and makes triage decisions that determine whether a patient can be managed remotely or must be referred for urgent or face-to-face care. The role is essential for expanding healthcare access, reducing unnecessary clinic visits, and ensuring patients receive safe, timely support from a registered professional.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough virtual assessments by interviewing patients, collecting medical histories, and interpreting vital signs or remote monitoring data.
• Triage incoming requests, spot warning signs of serious illness, and escalate cases that need emergency attention or in-person evaluation.
• Carry out nursing procedures such as wound dressing, administering injections, and collecting samples when the care model includes those services.
• Provide tailored nursing care, health education, and counselling to help patients understand their conditions and manage their health.
• Keep patient records accurate, up to date, and confidential on the designated digital health platforms.
• Work alongside doctors, specialists, and other team members to coordinate seamless, patient-centred care.
• Uphold clinical protocols, nursing standards, patient safety requirements, and established telehealth practices in every interaction.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A nursing degree or diploma from a recognised institution.
• Active registration as a Nurse with a current practising licence from the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
• Strong clinical assessment and triage abilities, with the confidence to make independent decisions within scope of practice.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records and telehealth software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for remote patient interactions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
