  • Plan and deliver Mathematics lessons aligned with the CBE syllabus, ensuring clear learning outcomes for Upper Primary learners.
  • Develop and maintain professional teaching documents, including schemes of work, lesson plans, and records of learner progress.
  • Use a variety of active learning strategies, including group work, practical tasks, and creative problem-solving exercises, to keep learners engaged and challenged.
  • Identify learners who need additional support and implement targeted interventions to help them close learning gaps and stay on track.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment that promotes respect, participation, and a strong work ethic.
  • Support the school’s co-curricular programme by coaching sports teams or patrolling clubs as assigned.
  • Take part in the school’s mentorship initiative, guiding learners in areas such as goal-setting, resilience, and personal values.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Education with Mathematics as a recognised teaching subject.
  • At least a C+ mean grade at O-Level (KCSE or equivalent).
  • A minimum of three years of post-qualification teaching experience, preferably at primary school level.
  • Current registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or clear proof of eligibility for registration.
  • A valid certificate of good conduct.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly to young learners.
  • Proven experience preparing learners for the Kenya Primary Schools Education Assessment (KPSEA) will be an added advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills and a professional, patient, and collaborative approach to working with learners, parents, and colleagues.
