Role Overview
You will step into a classroom environment shaped by Kenya's Competency-Based Curriculum, guiding learners through structured, interactive lessons that prioritize practical skills and holistic growth. Your daily work goes beyond delivering content — you will track each pupil's progress, adapt your teaching style to mixed abilities, and contribute to a school culture where academic excellence and character building carry equal weight. This teaching position matters because you will be a direct influence on how children think, collaborate, and approach challenges in their formative years.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with the CBC and CBE frameworks while meeting the diverse learning needs of every pupil.
- Administer continuous assessment tests, mark assignments, and maintain accurate records of learner performance and attendance.
- Implement remedial and enrichment activities to support learners who need extra help as well as those who are ready for advanced work.
- Integrate ICT tools and digital resources into teaching and learning to enhance student engagement and digital literacy.
- Participate actively in co-curricular activities such as sports, drama, music, and clubs, helping to nurture learners' talents beyond classwork.
- Maintain positive communication with parents and guardians through meetings, progress reports, and informal feedback on learner development.
- Enforce classroom discipline and uphold the school's values, safety standards, and code of conduct at all times.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and school leadership in curriculum review, staff meetings, and school-wide events.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Must be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and able to provide a valid registration certificate.
- Hold a P1 certificate or an upgraded Diploma in Education from a recognized institution.
- Have a minimum of three years of hands-on teaching experience in a school setting.
- Be fully compliant with Competency-Based Education (CBE) and Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) methodologies, with practical classroom application.
- Possess excellent communication and writing skills in English, with the ability to deliver clear instructions and produce well-structured reports.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of ICT and a willingness to use digital tools for lesson preparation, delivery, and record management.
- Show a genuine willingness to contribute to co-curricular activities, including sports, arts, or academic clubs.
