Job Description

Role Overview

As Manager, IT, you own the technology agenda for the organisation — translating broader business goals into a practical roadmap covering infrastructure, security, service delivery and innovation. Day to day, you balance hands-on oversight of systems and vendors with leading a team of IT Officers and Associates, making sure that networks, applications and support processes stay reliable, compliant and ready for growth. This position matters because technology decisions here directly shape operational continuity, client trust and the speed at which the business can scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the organisation's IT strategy and translate it into actionable roadmaps, policies, procedures and technology standards that guide how systems are selected, deployed and maintained.
  • Run periodic IT assessments and audits, using the findings to prioritise improvements, close gaps and introduce new tools or approaches where they add measurable value.
  • Direct the design, deployment and ongoing upkeep of core infrastructure — including networks, servers and related platforms — with accountability for uptime, performance and business continuity.
  • Establish and manage IT service delivery, covering incident handling, problem resolution, change control and service requests, while tracking stakeholder feedback and complaints through to resolution.
  • Implement cybersecurity controls and data protection practices that safeguard company and client information, and keep the organisation aligned with regulatory and industry compliance requirements.
  • Build and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans, testing them so that system failures or data loss events are contained quickly.
  • Lead, coach and develop the IT team, setting performance expectations and creating a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Manage relationships with senior stakeholders and external vendors, including contract negotiation, so that technology investments deliver value and third-party performance is held to account.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a comparable discipline.
  • At least 5 years in IT management, including a demonstrable record of building and leading high-performing technical teams.
  • Hands-on experience within a busy IT department; prior exposure to a BPO environment is an added advantage.
  • Strong command of IT infrastructure management, with particular depth in cloud computing and cybersecurity.
  • Proven involvement in strategic planning, project management and digital transformation programmes.
  • Working knowledge of budgeting, resource allocation and vendor contract management.
  • Familiarity with IT governance frameworks and recognised best practices.
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving ability, with a preference for decisions grounded in data.
  • Confident leadership and communication style, able to influence stakeholders across all levels of the business.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies and a clear view of how they can be applied commercially.
  • Certifications such as ITIL, PMP or CISSP are highly desirable.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adapting as the technology landscape shifts.
