Role Overview

This role is responsible for shaping and delivering training programs that directly support the operational excellence and regulatory compliance of banks and financial institutions. Day-to-day, you will research sector trends, design curricula, coordinate expert facilitators, and manage the full cycle of program delivery—from needs assessment to post-training evaluation. Your work ensures the Institute remains a trusted authority in financial sector capacity building, influencing prudent management practices across the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute training initiatives tailored to the banking and financial sector, ensuring alignment with Central Bank of Kenya guidelines and current regulatory standards.
  • Develop high-level executive programs for senior management and board members, addressing governance, risk, and strategic leadership challenges.
  • Identify and recruit specialised subject-matter experts to facilitate workshops, seminars, webinars, and conferences for financial sector audiences.
  • Collaborate with digital learning teams to create and maintain quality content for the Institute’s Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Conduct training needs analysis for banks and financial institutions, then translate findings into targeted, market-driven curricula.
  • Prepare an annual training calendar and implement marketing plans to meet enrolment targets and revenue goals.
  • Monitor program quality through participant evaluations, satisfaction surveys, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Manage budgets for training events, draft promotional materials (brochures, folders, memorabilia), and prepare performance reports against approved objectives.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Public Policy, Economics, Banking, or a closely related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Banking & Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of relevant working experience in training design, delivery, or capacity building within the financial services sector.
  • Certification in Project Management, Policy Development, Risk Management, or Strategic Management.
  • A PhD in Business Management or a related field is an added advantage, as is membership in a relevant professional body.
  • Proven ability to engage strategic partners, respond to training enquiries, and mentor junior staff.
