Role Overview
The Mall Manager will lead the day-to-day operation and commercial performance of a shopping mall in Kahawa West, along Kamiti Road. The role combines facilities oversight with leasing, tenant support and shopper experience, helping keep the property well run while strengthening occupancy and rental income.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily mall operations and ensure facilities and services are functioning effectively.
- Identify prospective tenants, negotiate lease terms and maintain productive relationships with current occupants.
- Track rent payments, follow up on arrears and take steps to support tenant retention.
- Plan and carry out marketing activity aimed at increasing shopper visits and attracting suitable tenants.
- Oversee security, cleaning, maintenance and other property service providers.
- Manage operating budgets, monitor costs and assess the mall’s financial performance.
- Respond to shopper complaints and resolve tenant concerns in a timely manner.
- Monitor compliance with applicable safety requirements and operating standards; prepare management reports and propose performance improvements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least seven years of experience managing a shopping mall, commercial centre or comparable property.
- A diploma or degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Commerce or an equivalent field.
- Practical experience in tenant sourcing, lease negotiation, rent collection and tenant retention.
- Strong leadership and operational management abilities, with a customer-focused approach.
- Working knowledge of mall marketing, security, maintenance and facilities management.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, supported by high integrity.
- Availability to work in Kahawa West, Nairobi.
