We are seeking a reliable and technically-inclined Machine Operator to join our production facility in Ruiru. The primary focus of this role is to ensure the continuous and safe operation of manufacturing equipment to meet daily output targets. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the machine's shift—from initial calibration and material loading to final quality inspection and basic maintenance. This position is ideal for a graduate of NYS or NITA who possesses a strong sense of discipline, a safety-first mindset, and the physical stamina required for a high-intensity manufacturing environment.
Equipment Operation & Calibration
Prepare machinery for daily shifts by performing essential cleaning, lubrication, and calibration tasks.
Configure machine settings, including speed, pressure, and temperature, to align with specific production requirements.
Load raw materials and parts into the machinery accurately, following all technical specifications.
Continuously monitor machine cycles, observing for unusual noise, vibration, or deviations in output levels.
Quality Assurance & Troubleshooting
Inspect finished goods against strict quality benchmarks to ensure consistency and excellence.
Identify and isolate defective products, taking immediate corrective action or escalating issues to the supervisor.
Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting to resolve minor interruptions and minimize machine downtime.
Maintain detailed production logs, recording output quantities, reject counts, and any periods of equipment downtime.
Safety, 5S & Maintenance
Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Maintain a clean and organized workstation following 5S standards to ensure a hazard-free environment.
Assist the specialized maintenance teams in diagnosing and repairing more complex mechanical faults.
Participate in shift handovers, providing clear communication regarding machine status and any potential operational concerns.
Education & Training
Certification: Mandatory training certification from the National Youth Service (NYS) or National Industrial Training Authority (NITA).
Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing plant or as a machine operator is a significant added advantage.
Mechanical Knowledge: Basic understanding of industrial machinery and mechanical troubleshooting.
