- Review exception reports, point-of-sale data, and inventory records to uncover patterns of shrinkage or employee dishonesty.
- Investigate incidents of suspected theft or misconduct, interview relevant parties when appropriate, and document findings thoroughly.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and security teams to handle apprehensions, recoveries, and legal follow-ups in compliance with company policy.
- Prepare clear, factual incident reports and maintain secure case files for management review and audit purposes.
- Assist with cycle counts and periodic inventory audits to verify stock accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
- Partner with store leadership to train staff on loss prevention best practices, cash handling controls, and shrink awareness.
- Monitor the functionality of CCTV systems, alarms, and electronic article surveillance equipment, reporting any technical failures for prompt resolution.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Security Management, Criminology, or an adjacent discipline.
- Two to four years of hands-on experience in loss control, security management, or a comparable protective role; retail experience is a meaningful plus.
- Solid command of loss prevention methodologies, including surveillance tactics, investigative interviewing, and evidence preservation.
- Sharp observational instincts paired with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to detect subtle anomalies and resolve complex situations.
- Aptitude with Microsoft Office applications and standard reporting tools for data entry, trend analysis, and incident documentation.
- Unquestionable integrity, a high degree of confidentiality, and meticulous attention to detail in all actions and records.
