Role Overview
This university teaching position is focused on delivering anatomy education and clinical mentorship across undergraduate and postgraduate health sciences programmes. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and assessment, supervising student research and dissertations, and actively contributing to curriculum development and academic administration. Beyond the classroom, the role supports the university’s research mission and community engagement through partnerships, professional service, and fundraising initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver lectures, practical sessions, and assessments in anatomy and related clinical sciences at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Assess student performance through continuous evaluation, written examinations, and practical or clinical skills testing.
- Supervise undergraduate student projects, research papers, and experiential learning placements.
- Guide postgraduate students in developing and completing dissertations or theses.
- Participate actively in the creation, review, and refinement of course content and academic programmes.
- Initiate and conduct research projects, contributing to scholarly outputs and knowledge in the discipline.
- Provide professional and community services, and develop strategic training and research partnerships that benefit the university.
- Undertake fundraising activities for the university and carry out administrative duties assigned from time to time.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery (MBChB), dental surgery (BDS), or anatomy (BSc Anatomy) from an accredited and recognised institution.
- A Master of Medicine (MMed), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), or equivalent qualification with specialist training in the relevant field.
- A minimum of three years of relevant working experience in teaching, clinical work, or academic research.
- Evidence of registration and recognition by the applicable regulatory body, where required.
- Proof of current membership or affiliation with the relevant professional body, where applicable.
- Demonstrated ability to teach, assess, and supervise students effectively across multiple levels of study.
