About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Information Security Officer to support the implementation and maintenance of our organisation’s information security program. Working under the guidance of senior security personnel, you will help protect systems, applications, and data by implementing security controls, supporting compliance initiatives, identifying vulnerabilities, and promoting secure development practices across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional with 1–3 years of experience to grow their skills in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and monitoring security controls under supervision
• Support vulnerability scanning, assessments, and basic risk identification
• Assist in security audits, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), compliance activities, and documentation updates
• Support incident reporting and basic incident response activities
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to promote DevSecOps and secure coding practices

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• 1–3 years of cybersecurity work experience
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred / Added Advantage

• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, eCPPT, eJPT, PNPT, GIAC, or S-DPP
• Hands-on exposure to cybersecurity labs, projects, or tools
• Exposure to system audit processes and implementation of standards such as ISO 27001 and similar frameworks
