Smart Group is seeking a Junior Accountant to join its finance team in Dubai. The role will support day-to-day accounting activities, bookkeeping, financial documentation, and other routine finance operations.
The successful candidate will assist with accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, payment documentation, bank and account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records. The position will also provide support during monthly closing and financial reporting activities.
The role is suitable for an accounting professional with good knowledge of basic accounting principles, strong attention to detail, and familiarity with UAE accounting and VAT practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with daily accounting entries and bookkeeping activities.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
• Prepare invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and supporting documents.
• Assist with bank and account reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Support monthly closing and preparation of financial reports.
• Assist with VAT-related accounting and documentation.
• Coordinate with internal departments regarding payments and collections.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE.
• Good knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Familiarity with VAT and UAE accounting practices is an advantage.
• Experience with Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar accounting software.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Candidates currently available in the UAE are preferred.
