Cost Accountant / Finance Executive

Role Overview

The Cost Accountant / Finance Executive will track the costs behind manufacturing activity, from material use and production overheads to finished-goods valuation. By turning cost and variance data into accurate reports and useful analysis, this role helps management understand spending patterns, support operational plans, and maintain reliable financial records across production sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and review direct and indirect production costs, including raw material consumption, operating expenses, and factory overheads.
• Maintain manufacturing cost records and entries in the ERP system, supporting accurate inventory valuation.
• Complete periodic cost finalisation and compare actual results with standard costs, investigating significant variances.
• Prepare cost reports and analyse trends to highlight changes in production spending and operational efficiency.
• Contribute financial information and analysis to operational budgets and forecasts.
• Support routine finance operations and help ensure financial reporting is complete and accurate.
• Travel between operational sites as needed to support costing and finance activities.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Three to five years of finance and accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Postgraduate finance qualification: CA Inter, CMA, or MBA in Finance.
• Practical experience in manufacturing costing, cost accounting, expense tracking, and production cost analysis.
• Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Experience using ERP systems, including Tally and SAP.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain cost findings clearly.
• Must be comfortable travelling regularly between operational sites.
