Full Stack Software Engineer

Role Overview

As a Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will take client challenges from early definition through design, implementation, and production launch. You’ll build adaptable web applications across the user interface, services, and data layers, balancing reliability and performance with the needs of different client environments. The work also includes using AI tools thoughtfully to accelerate development while applying sound engineering judgment to the results.

Key Responsibilities

• Clarify open-ended business needs with stakeholders and turn them into practical technical plans and intuitive software experiences.
• Design, build, and deploy full-stack applications, including interactive front ends, APIs, and data storage.
• Develop reusable components, libraries, and architectural patterns that can be adapted for projects across different clients and sectors.
• Deliver cloud-hosted services and integrations, with attention to performance, security, observability, and operational reliability.
• Set a high standard for maintainable code, automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and dependable CI/CD practices.
• Research and prototype technically complex capabilities, including real-time data connections and highly interactive interfaces.
• Use AI coding assistants to support tasks such as drafting code, troubleshooting, testing, and documentation, reviewing their output carefully before it reaches production.
• Work closely with product, design, and business partners; document technical decisions, contribute to code reviews, and share engineering practices with colleagues.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Expert-level experience with a modern front-end framework such as React, React Native, Vue, or Angular, and strong capability in at least one back-end environment, such as Node.js with Express, Java with Spring Boot, or Python.
• Significant hands-on experience designing and deploying applications on a major cloud platform, such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or OCI.
• Practical knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases, Docker, CI/CD, monitoring, and production deployment.
• Familiarity with serverless functions, application gateways, and cloud networking; experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform is an advantage.
• A demonstrated record of taking software from initial concept to live production, with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Ability to make progress amid ambiguity, define sound technical solutions, and explain architectural choices clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• A collaborative, transparent approach to delivery, including early communication of risks and a willingness to prioritise shared outcomes.
• Curiosity and self-direction in learning new technologies, frameworks, and engineering practices.
• Additional useful experience includes data pipelines or ETL/ELT, streaming or large-scale data, building AI-powered features with model APIs, and contributing to reusable software used across multiple projects.
