Job Description

Role Overview

This internship places you at the heart of our fleet and logistics operations, where you will help keep vehicles running, drivers coordinated, and deliveries on schedule. Day to day, you will handle vehicle scheduling, track maintenance and fuel data, maintain records, and support reporting — giving you hands-on exposure to how a busy transport operation stays efficient and cost-effective. Your work directly supports the Fleet & Logistics Coordinator in keeping operations transparent, compliant, and responsive to changing demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the daily allocation and scheduling of company vehicles, checking that each vehicle is assigned correctly and used efficiently.
  • Monitor vehicle movements, mileage, fuel usage, servicing, and repairs, flagging any anomalies or maintenance needs to your supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate fleet registers and vehicle files, ensuring all documentation — insurance, inspections, registrations, and servicing records — is current and well organised.
  • Coordinate with drivers on schedules, routes, and assignments, helping them follow company policies and resolve any day-to-day transport issues.
  • Assist with planning deliveries, collections, and dispatches, tracking shipment status and escalating delays or route problems quickly.
  • Keep detailed records of fuel consumption and vehicle-related expenses, supporting monthly reconciliations and expense reports.
  • Track key fleet performance indicators and prepare routine daily, weekly, and monthly trackers and reports for management.
  • Support fleet audits, physical vehicle inspections, and stock or logistics reconciliations as required, stepping in on other operational tasks when needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A recent graduate or current student looking for practical internship experience in fleet and logistics operations.
  • Basic knowledge of fleet, transport, or logistics processes — previous exposure is an advantage but not required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (data entry, trackers, and basic formulas) and Word.
  • Good numerical and data-entry skills, with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and work with minimal supervision while staying organised.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive, team-oriented attitude and a high level of integrity.

What We Offer / Why Join

This is a structured internship running until 30 September 2026, designed to give you real responsibility and practical skills in fleet management, logistics coordination, and operational reporting. You will work closely with experienced coordinators, learn how to use fleet management systems and Excel-based tracking tools, and build a strong foundation for a future career in transport and supply chain operations. You will also gain confidence in handling drivers, vendors, and internal stakeholders while developing a track record of accuracy, reliability, and initiative.
