Role Overview
This full-time, on-site position in Nairobi County, Kenya, puts you at the centre of helping individuals, families, and businesses find insurance cover that genuinely fits their needs. You will spend your days speaking with prospects, reviewing their circumstances, and guiding them through options in life, health, and general insurance. The role matters because it connects people with protection they might otherwise overlook, while also strengthening the organisation’s client base and long-term retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a sales pipeline through referrals, networking, community contact, follow-ups, and participation in marketing drives.
- Meet with prospective and existing clients to assess their risks, priorities, dependants, and financial protection needs.
- Prepare quotations, compare suitable products across life, health, and general insurance, and explain policy terms clearly.
- Process applications and supporting documents accurately, working within insurer guidelines, internal procedures, and regulatory expectations.
- Coordinate with underwriters, claims teams, internal departments, and brokerage partners to move cases forward and resolve client issues.
- Service active policies through reviews, renewals, adjustments, and claims support that protect client satisfaction and retention.
- Keep sales records, client interactions, and pipeline updates accurate using the organisation’s systems or CRM tools.
- Meet individual and team sales targets while representing the organisation professionally in all client and market interactions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Insurance, or a related discipline; a professional insurance qualification is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in insurance or financial services sales, with a track record of achieving or exceeding targets.
- Solid knowledge of insurance products and market practices across life, health, and general insurance.
- Understanding of health insurance products, underwriting fundamentals, and claims processes.
- Ability to work with brokers, intermediaries, and other distribution partners where required.
- Strong customer service skills for handling enquiries, providing support, and building lasting client relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex products in plain language.
- High integrity, accountability, and commitment to ethical and regulatory standards.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and documentation accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and familiarity with CRM or sales management tools is beneficial.
