Role Overview
This consultancy is centred on shaping CHASP Advisory’s visual identity across both digital and print touchpoints. You will work closely with the Head of Communications to turn policy research, programme findings, and campaign ideas into clear, engaging graphics, layouts, and multimedia assets that advance the organisation’s visibility and credibility. Day to day, you’ll move between social media creatives, publication layouts, presentation decks, and event materials, while also stepping in for video edits or motion graphics when a project calls for them.
Key Responsibilities
- Design print and digital communication products, including brochures, flyers, posters, banners, fact sheets, newsletters, infographics, reports, and institutional publications.
- Create social media graphics, campaign visuals, website assets, and digital marketing creatives tailored to platforms such as LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, and other channels.
- Develop presentation decks, pitch decks, conference materials, and branded templates that maintain a consistent and professional look across CHASP Advisory outputs.
- Layout and visually structure reports, policy briefs, case studies, and other knowledge products, ensuring readability and strong visual hierarchy.
- Produce reusable templates, graphic assets, and brand-aligned design systems to streamline future communications work.
- Prepare final artwork for both print-ready and digital-ready formats, applying brand guidelines to every deliverable.
- Revise and refine designs based on feedback from the Communications Team and relevant stakeholders, delivering polished work within agreed timelines.
- On an as-needed basis, create event branding packages, website mock-ups, short promotional videos, animated social posts, or other multimedia content as assigned per project or campaign.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A degree, diploma, or professional certification in graphic design, visual communication, multimedia design, digital media, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience across graphic design, branding, visual communication, or multimedia design.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating work in digital design, print design, publication layout, branding, campaign visuals, and social media graphics.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign; working knowledge of Figma, Adobe XD, or equivalent UX/UI tools.
- Confident use of Canva and PowerPoint for quick-turnaround assets, plus Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or similar tools for video and motion content.
- Solid understanding of layout, typography, colour, composition, visual hierarchy, and brand consistency.
- Ability to translate dense technical or policy information into visually engaging, easy-to-understand designs.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work independently while receiving and acting on feedback constructively.
- Added advantage: experience with think tanks, advisory firms, NGOs, development partners, or research institutions; familiarity with health, social protection, development, or public policy topics; and practical experience with UX/UI design, motion graphics, animation, short-form video editing, campaign identity development, or AI-enabled creative tools.
What We Offer / Why Join
This is a one-year consultancy contract, renewable annually, with work assigned through task orders and payment released once deliverables are submitted, reviewed, and approved. You will report directly to the Head of Communications and collaborate with a team that values clear, evidence-based storytelling through design. It’s a suitable opportunity for an independent designer who wants to apply their craft to policy, advisory, and social-impact communications across a varied portfolio of print, digital, and multimedia projects.
