Role Overview
This teaching position centres on delivering the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum to learners in a dynamic classroom environment. You will plan and facilitate daily lessons that move beyond rote memorisation, helping students develop critical thinking, creativity, and practical skills. Your work directly supports the school’s mission to produce well-rounded, self-driven learners who are ready for the next stage of their education.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, learner-centred lessons aligned with the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBE) across the assigned grade level and subjects.
- Integrate ICT tools and digital resources into teaching to enhance interaction, research, and creative expression among learners.
- Assess student progress through continuous, formative, and summative evaluation methods, documenting individual competency development.
- Identify and support learners with varying abilities, using differentiated instruction to ensure no learner is left behind.
- Maintain accurate learner records, including attendance, assessment scores, and progression reports, in line with school policies.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and self-discipline.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about learner achievements, challenges, and school activities.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and co-curricular initiatives as part of the teaching team.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed.) from a recognised institution.
- Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and hold a valid teaching certificate.
- Basic ICT skills with the ability to use digital tools, learning platforms, and CBE-aligned resources effectively.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Competency-Based Curriculum and its practical classroom application.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage learners, colleagues, and parents professionally.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and openness to adopting modern pedagogical approaches.
- Ability to manage a classroom with patience, creativity, and strong organisational skills.
