Role Overview
This teaching position focuses on English and Literature, where you will take charge of daily instruction, student assessment, and meaningful engagement with both learners and their families. Beyond delivering lessons, you will play an active part in shaping curriculum, fostering a positive classroom community, and supporting broader school life through clubs, boarding duties, and student well-being initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach engaging English and Literature lessons that align with academic standards and the school’s instructional vision.
- Collaborate with the Curriculum Development Manager to review, refine, and update lesson plans and teaching resources.
- Build and maintain trusting, professional relationships with students, families, and colleagues to support holistic student growth.
- Create a structured, positive classroom environment that encourages focus, curiosity, and age-appropriate learning.
- Integrate interactive technology and varied teaching methods to strengthen student understanding and participation.
- Track student mastery of content, record academic data promptly, and clearly communicate progress to families and stakeholders.
- Adapt instruction through accommodations and modifications so that every student can meet academic and cultural expectations.
- Contribute to school programs by serving as a teacher on duty, boarding teacher on duty, homeroom teacher, or club sponsor as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- TSC certification and a relevant degree in Education with a specialization in English or Literature.
- At least one to two years of practical teaching experience in a classroom setting.
- Proficiency with basic technology tools including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel for planning, instruction, and record-keeping.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to give clear feedback and engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Flexibility and openness to change, with the ability to manage ambiguity, complexity, and shifting priorities in a dynamic school environment.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset focused on identifying issues early and implementing thoughtful, lasting solutions.
