Role Overview
Maintain reliable, confidential health records that help dispensary teams provide safe and timely outpatient care. You will manage patient files and service registers, prepare routine Ministry of Health reports, and support checks that improve the quality of facility data.
Key Responsibilities
- Register patients and create, update, file, retrieve, and securely store outpatient records.
- Maintain dispensary registers for outpatient care, maternal and child health, immunization, and referrals.
- Compile and submit routine health data using approved Ministry of Health reporting tools.
- Review records and reports for accuracy and completeness, and submit them within required timelines.
- Provide authorized clinical staff with timely access to patient records to support care delivery.
- Protect patient confidentiality and handle health information in line with applicable data protection requirements.
- Follow Ministry of Health policies and dispensary procedures for records management.
- Assist with routine supervision, audits, and activities to improve data quality.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in Health Records and Information Management (HRIM) or a related field.
- At least one year of relevant experience is preferred, particularly in a primary healthcare facility or dispensary.
- Registration with the Health Records and Information Managers Board (HRIMB) is an added advantage.
- Ability to maintain orderly records and prepare accurate, timely reports.
- Sound understanding of patient confidentiality and responsible handling of health information.
