Job Title: Chief Investment Officer (CIO)
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Investment Officer to lead our investment strategy, portfolio management, and capital markets operations. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving growth in assets under management, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building a high-performing investment team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the organization’s investment strategy, asset allocation framework, and capital deployment plans.
- Provide strategic oversight of portfolio construction, investment performance, liquidity management, and risk-adjusted returns.
- Lead securities brokerage and trading operations while ensuring execution excellence, strong governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Direct investment research, financial modelling, valuations, due diligence, and market intelligence to support sound investment decisions.
- Oversee investment governance, risk management, and compliance with CMA, NSE, CDSC, AML/CFT, and corporate governance requirements.
- Drive growth in Assets Under Management (AUM), brokerage revenue, investment management fees, advisory income, and institutional mandates while strengthening relationships with investors and strategic partners.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Portfolio Managers, Securities Dealers, Stockbrokers, and Investment Analysts to build a high-performing investment team.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Investment Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Master’s Degree in Finance, Investment Management, Economics, MBA, Financial Engineering, or a related field is an added advantage.
Professional Certifications
- CPA (K) or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is highly preferred.
- CFA Charterholder or an equivalent internationally recognized investment qualification.
- Relevant regulatory approvals or certifications applicable to licensed securities and investment activities.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience in investment management or financial services.
- At least 5 years’ senior leadership experience within the securities or capital markets industry.
- Proven expertise in portfolio management, securities trading, investment banking, fund management, corporate finance, investment advisory, financial modelling, valuation, and investment risk management.
