Head of Digital Engineering

Role Overview

This is a senior leadership position within Jhub SEZ Limited, tasked with directing the entire digital engineering function and ensuring that all technical delivery directly supports the organisation's commercial ambitions. Day to day, the role spans software engineering, robotic process automation, core platform development, and technical support, with a constant focus on improving reliability, scalability, and speed to market. The person in this position will work alongside other transformation teams to turn ambitious ideas into viable, revenue-generating digital products, bridging the gap between technical capability and business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across software engineering, automation, platform engineering, and technical support teams, setting a clear technical vision and driving execution.
• Own the full lifecycle of digital solution design and delivery, from initial concept through development, deployment, and ongoing iteration, while maintaining high standards of quality and security.
• Build and maintain reliable, scalable technology platforms that can adapt to growing business needs and evolving customer expectations.
• Collaborate with other transformation functions to identify and evaluate commercial opportunities, translating them into realistic product roadmaps and delivery plans.
• Drive continuous improvement across engineering practices, tools, and processes to increase efficiency, reduce technical debt, and enhance overall system performance.
• Manage technology budgets, vendor relationships, and strategic partnerships, ensuring that external resources deliver measurable value and align with internal priorities.
• Champion the adoption of emerging technologies such as RPA and cloud-based solutions, embedding automation where it creates tangible business outcomes.
• Engage with senior stakeholders across the organisation, translating complex technical topics into clear, actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.

Requirements & Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience in software engineering, digital technology, technology transformation, or a closely related field, with a proven record of leading engineering teams.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline.
• A master's degree in Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is an added advantage.
• Professional certifications in software engineering, cloud computing, DevOps, project management, or similar areas are desirable but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated experience developing and executing technology strategy, scaling digital products or platforms, and managing complex, multi-disciplinary engineering environments.
• Strong commercial awareness, including experience with technology-driven business initiatives, budget ownership, vendor management, and direct engagement with senior leadership.
