Job Description
Role Overview
This role focuses on creating the visual backbone of all organisational communications, from social media campaigns and annual reports to event branding and motion graphics. Day to day, you will translate complex programme information into clear, compelling graphics and video elements, working closely with production and communications teams to ensure every asset strengthens audience engagement. Your work directly supports the organisation’s ability to tell its story consistently across print, digital, and broadcast platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and produce a wide range of visual assets including social media graphics, infographics, brochures, posters, flyers, factsheets, and digital ad creatives to support ongoing programmes and campaigns.
- Create branded materials for events such as backdrops, banners, invitation cards, certificates, presentation templates, and merchandise.
- Layout and design multi-page documents including reports, policy briefs, case studies, newsletters, annual reports, and donor-facing publications.
- Develop motion graphics, animated explainers, title sequences, lower thirds, and other animated elements for video productions.
- Collaborate with videographers and content creators to integrate graphic assets and visual effects into video workflows.
- Contribute visual concepts and creative direction during campaign and content planning meetings, helping to shape storytelling approaches.
- Maintain and enforce brand consistency across all materials, while actively seeking ways to evolve the visual identity within established guidelines.
- Organise and maintain a structured archive of design files, templates, and brand assets for easy team access and reuse.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a directly related field.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in graphic design, preferably within a communications or media production environment.
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard design and photo-editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects).
- Demonstrated ability to produce motion graphics and animated visual elements for video content.
- Experience creating optimised graphics for digital platforms including websites, social media, and email campaigns.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple design projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
- Membership with the Media Council of Kenya is considered an added advantage.
