Role Overview
This teaching position places you at the heart of a learner-centred classroom, where you will deliver the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBE) to primary school students. You will plan and guide daily lessons, integrate digital tools to enrich learning, and track each child's progress through continuous assessment. Your daily work directly supports the school's mission to produce confident, creative, and critical thinkers who are ready for the next stage of their education.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, interactive lesson plans that align with the Competency-Based Curriculum and cater to diverse learning needs.
- Integrate ICT tools, digital platforms, and multimedia resources into classroom instruction to make learning more dynamic and accessible.
- Conduct ongoing formative and summative assessments, recording learner achievements and identifying areas that need additional support.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, attendance, and development, and use this data to adapt teaching strategies.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and well-organised classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and self-discipline.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about learners' progress, challenges, and successes, and work with them to support each child's growth.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to share best practices, develop teaching materials, and ensure consistency in curriculum delivery across grade levels.
- Participate in school-wide activities, staff meetings, and professional development sessions focused on improving CBE implementation and digital learning.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed.) from a recognised institution.
- Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and hold a valid teaching certificate.
- Basic ICT skills with the ability to use digital learning tools, educational software, and CBE-aligned resources effectively.
- Solid understanding of the Competency-Based Curriculum structure, assessment methods, and learner-centred teaching approaches.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues clearly and professionally.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt lesson delivery to different learning speeds and styles, including supporting learners with special needs.
