Role Overview
A Dubai construction business is seeking a General Accountant to handle day-to-day accounting and help keep project-related financial records complete and reliable. The role covers transaction processing, reporting, reconciliations and VAT support, contributing to sound financial oversight and timely period-end reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.
- Maintain general ledger entries and supporting documentation.
- Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare regular financial reports and assist with budgeting work.
- Support VAT compliance and provide records for audits.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Keep accounting files organised and accurate for review and reporting.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least three years of accounting experience in the UAE construction industry.
- Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Accounting or Finance.
- Working knowledge of payables, receivables, general ledger accounting, reporting, budgeting and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of VAT compliance, audit support and month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Immediate availability and a stable employment history, with an interest in long-term employment.
