Job Description

Role Overview

This is a group-level finance leadership position that owns how the organisation's financial story is assembled, validated and published. Day to day, the holder works across operating company finance teams to pull together consolidated results, keep disclosures consistent with IFRS and parent-group expectations, and turn those numbers into board papers, statutory statements and market-facing results announcements. Alongside the reporting mandate, the role carries executive ownership of the administrative function across the operating entities, so the person in this seat shapes both the quality of external reporting and the operational backbone that supports it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the group consolidation cycle, assembling periodic reporting packs for submission to parent-group finance and making sure every entity meets agreed submission deadlines.
  • Act as the group's lead specialist on the consolidation platform (HFM) — reviewing general ledger to HFM mappings for consistency, troubleshooting queries raised by operating company finance teams, and coordinating with parent-group finance colleagues to resolve them.
  • Champion uniform application of IFRS across the group: reviewing the credibility of disclosures submitted by each entity, driving adoption of new accounting standards, and aligning group reporting and presentation with parent-group requirements.
  • Prepare the group's annual financial statements for local statutory reporting using Workiva, coordinate contributions from all stakeholders for the integrated annual report, and generate the financial metrics that appear in it.
  • Produce interim and full-year results publications and press releases, and prepare board papers and supporting analysis for senior governance forums.
  • Manage relationships with independent auditors, coordinating interim and final reviews end to end, and maintain a strong control environment with intercompany balances reconciled on an ongoing basis.
  • Support strategic finance workstreams including financial modelling, going concern assessments and capital adequacy evaluations, while also handling the day-to-day financial operations of the holding company.
  • Partner with operating entity finance teams on the migration from SAP ECC to S/4HANA, providing reporting and mapping expertise throughout the transition.
  • Provide leadership over administration across operating entities: planning and monitoring administrative budgets, overseeing records management, archiving, retention and disposal, ensuring office assets, equipment and branch facilities are available and well utilised, and embedding administrative policies and controls that strengthen governance.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or a related discipline.
  • A recognised professional accounting qualification (CPA or ACCA).
  • At least 15 years of finance experience, of which a minimum of five years has been spent in senior management.
  • Five years of executive management exposure, plus five years in a dedicated financial reporting role.
  • Prior experience in the insurance sector would be a distinct advantage.
  • Practical command of group consolidation and reporting systems (HFM or comparable), ERP environments such as SAP ECC and S/4HANA, and financial statement preparation tools such as Workiva.
  • Demonstrated strengths in strategic and commercial judgement, insurance and financial technical expertise, business analytics and decision-making, and leadership of people and teams.
  • Proven ability to influence and communicate with stakeholders at board, group and operating entity level, with strong planning and execution discipline.
  • Adaptability through change and transformation programmes, a digital-agile mindset, unquestioned integrity, and confidence with finance technology.

If you meet the above requirements, send your application and updated CV to [email protected] by 24th September 2026, stating the job title clearly in the subject heading.
