Role Overview
This field-based position keeps Dealer Tinting System (DTS) equipment running reliably across dealer outlets and internal locations. The technician installs, maintains, calibrates, and repairs DTS machines while responding quickly to breakdowns and working within agreed service-level timelines. The role is critical because dependable machine performance directly supports dealer operations, customer satisfaction, and the company’s service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, service, repair, and maintain DTS machines at dealer outlets and in-house, ensuring each unit is left safe and fully operational.
- Inspect and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and electronic faults, diagnosing root causes and resolving technical problems efficiently.
- Attend breakdown calls within agreed SLA windows, restoring equipment to service and minimising operational downtime.
- Calibrate DTS machines and adjust pricing, software, and machine settings so they operate according to required specifications.
- Complete preventive maintenance visits on schedule, following approved maintenance plans and service checklists.
- Record service calls, maintenance work, breakdowns, repairs, and parts usage in the CRM system, and complete a visit report for every customer site.
- Identify spare parts and accessory needs, coordinate requisitions with the supervisor, and keep accurate records of items consumed or replaced.
- Advise dealers and customers on correct operation and basic upkeep, escalate major technical issues, and coordinate with ICT or other departments on software and technical accessory requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience maintaining equipment or machines, preferably within the paints and coatings industry.
- Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems, with strong troubleshooting and equipment maintenance abilities.
- Experience in servicing, fault diagnosis, and preventive maintenance of machinery is an added advantage.
- Customer-focused communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide dealers and customers clearly.
- Good planning, organisation, and follow-up skills, plus the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Capable of performing under pressure and meeting SLA deadlines while managing multiple service visits.
- Basic computer and mobile application/CRM skills for logging activities and completing digital reports.
- Willingness to travel to different dealer and customer locations; a valid driving licence is an added advantage.
