Electrical Design Engineer

Role Overview

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will develop and coordinate electrical designs for electromechanical contracting projects in Abu Dhabi, from calculations and drawings through authority submissions. Your work will help ensure that project teams have buildable, compliant design information and that approvals progress in line with TAQA and ADDC requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical designs, engineering calculations, and shop drawings for project requirements.
• Compile and coordinate design documentation for TAQA and ADDC submissions, and follow approvals through to completion.
• Check designs against applicable authority standards, regulations, and project specifications.
• Work with MEP engineers, site personnel, consultants, and clients to resolve design interfaces and technical queries.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams as design information is implemented on site.
• Develop practical design solutions when project requirements or site conditions present technical challenges.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Eight to twelve years of relevant experience in the UAE.
• Recent electromechanical contracting experience in Abu Dhabi is preferred, particularly three to four years.
• Working knowledge of TAQA and ADDC standards, regulations, and submission processes.
• Experience producing electrical designs, calculations, and shop drawings for contracting projects.
• Ability to coordinate effectively across MEP disciplines and communicate technical matters clearly.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to design coordination.
