Education Quality & MEAL Advisor

Role Overview

This is a senior technical role dedicated to safeguarding the quality and credibility of education data across a global organisation. You will act as the central guardian for how education results are measured, verified, and communicated, ensuring that every indicator, tool, and dashboard serves real decision-making. Day to day, you will manage digital quality platforms like the Measuring Education Quality Achieved system, coach colleagues on data interpretation, and turn raw information into clear, actionable insights for leadership and field teams.

The position sits at the intersection of technology, education programming, and evidence generation. By strengthening how data is collected, cleansed, and visualised, you will directly influence programme improvements, annual reporting, and the organisation’s ability to demonstrate measurable impact for children. You will work across internal teams and with external partners to build a culture where data is not just stored but used confidently.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the designated quality assurance and monitoring & evaluation lead for the education child results area, setting standards and ensuring all data flows are reliable and timely.
• Oversee the operational health of the Measuring Education Quality Achieved (MEQA) platform, including troubleshooting, user administration, documentation, and continuous improvement.
• Design and maintain interactive dashboards, visual reports, and analytical summaries using Power BI and other digital tools that make education performance visible to a wide range of stakeholders.
• Collaborate with digital solutions specialists and technical advisors to integrate emerging AI functionality into existing education data systems where it adds clear value.
• Lead regular deep-dive reviews of education indicators, flagging data completeness gaps, quality risks, and emerging trends with recommendations for corrective action.
• Develop and drive education annual reports, case studies, and knowledge products that translate complex evidence into compelling, digestible narratives.
• Facilitate a global community of practice for education monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning to share tools, lessons, and innovations.
• Strengthen capacity across country and regional teams by designing user-friendly learning resources, workshops, and one-on-one coaching focused on data use and dashboard literacy.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Digital Monitoring Systems, or another relevant discipline.
• Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in education sector monitoring, evaluation, quality assurance, or digital data system management.
• Proven ability to build and manage back-end data systems and reporting workflows using tools such as Power BI, Excel, KoBo Toolbox, or comparable analytics platforms.
• Demonstrated track record of converting complex datasets into concise decision-support products such as analysis briefs, dashboards with clear narratives, and data quality audits.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and analytical writing skills with an ability to explain technical findings to both specialists and non-technical leaders.
• Practical experience with Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) frameworks, including indicator development, outcome measurement, and adaptive management.
• Comfort with learning and adopting new digital platforms quickly, especially as system features evolve.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally up to 30% of the time; a home-based work arrangement is available.
• Professional fluency in English is required; working proficiency in French, Spanish, Arabic, or Portuguese is an advantage.
