Job Description

Role Overview

This is a senior technical role for someone who wants to shape how education programmes are measured, monitored, and improved across multiple countries. You will act as the primary authority on quality assurance, monitoring, evaluation, and data use within the education sector, which means you will set standards, oversee the digital systems that collect classroom and programme data, and turn raw numbers into clear guidance for decision-makers.

Day to day, you will manage the Measuring Education Quality Achieved (MEQA) platform, coach colleagues on how to use dashboards and evidence, and collaborate with technical teams to build tools that make education quality visible. Your work will directly influence annual reporting, programme adjustments, and the way the organisation learns from its education investments, so strong analytical judgement and clear communication are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the quality assurance and M&E framework for the education portfolio, ensuring global indicators, tools, and reporting processes are consistent, up-to-date, and aligned with organisational standards.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the MEQA digital platform, including user access, troubleshooting, documentation, and coordination with the Digital Solutions team on AI enhancements and system upgrades.
  • Design and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and other visualisation products that allow both technical and non-technical audiences to quickly understand education data.
  • Lead regular data quality reviews, analysing education indicators to identify trends, gaps, outliers, and implementation issues, then translating findings into actionable recommendations for country and global teams.
  • Facilitate a global community of practice focused on M&E in education, developing learning tools and delivering capacity strengthening on data interpretation, dashboard use, and adult learning methods.
  • Coordinate the production of annual education reports, case studies, lesson-learned documents, and knowledge products that capture what works and what does not in education programming.
  • Serve as the technical liaison with external partners on M&E tools and systems, particularly Tangerine, ensuring integration and alignment with internal platforms.
  • Support portfolio tracking and evidence generation by working across functions, ensuring that education data is complete, accurate, timely, and available for performance reviews and programme improvement.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Digital Monitoring Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in education monitoring, evaluation, quality assurance, or data systems management, with demonstrated MEAL expertise.
  • Hands-on experience building and managing backend digital data systems and reporting tools, including Power BI, Excel, KOBO, or similar platforms.
  • Proven ability to produce analysis briefs, dashboard narratives, data quality reviews, and decision-support products for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to quickly learn new digital platforms and adapt to emerging technologies.
  • Experience facilitating adult learning and delivering training or coaching to diverse teams; familiarity with the global education landscape and current trends is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and spoken English at a professional/technical level; fluency in French, Spanish, Arabic, or Portuguese is an added advantage.
  • Comfortable working in a remote/home-based setting and willing to travel nationally or internationally up to 30% of the time.
