Role Overview
The PSS Senior Associate leads post-school planning and student support at one or two Nova Pioneer campuses, helping learners move from early career exploration to informed subject choices, college applications, and successful transitions after graduation. Working closely with students, families, school teams, and external partners, the role turns each student’s interests and goals into a documented, practical plan and ensures they receive timely guidance along the way.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver the Post-School Success programme across assigned campuses, monitor progress against student milestones, and provide targeted support when a learner is at risk of falling behind.
- Teach age-appropriate lessons and advise students individually on self-discovery, career exploration, academic pathways, subject choices, post-secondary options, and application preparation.
- Guide students and families through CBE senior school tracks and subject combinations, Cambridge IGCSE choices, KUCCPS processes, and other local or international tertiary pathways, as relevant.
- Support older students with university and college research, applications, personal statements, essays, testing, transcripts, recommendations, scholarships, financial aid, and application deadlines.
- Track student profiles, consultations, pathway decisions, applications, offers, funding, and post-school destinations; use this information to coordinate follow-up and report progress.
- Organize experiences such as career days, university visits and fairs, mentorship, internships, job-shadowing, and pathway workshops; build relationships with universities, employers, alumni, and community organizations.
- Engage families, teachers, school leaders, and alumni in student guidance and application support, and coordinate with the PSS team to share effective practices and meet programme goals.
- Help students access and use Quest’s digital learning and transition programmes, including Quest Launchpad and Quest Next, and share feedback to improve student engagement and delivery.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education Management, College Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in college counselling in a secondary school or in a programme serving students after high school.
- Experience advising students on applications to tertiary institutions outside their home country, with familiarity with international higher-education options.
- Strong understanding of the CBE curriculum, senior school pathways, and the subject-selection process.
- Ability to provide clear, individualized guidance to students and families and to manage application steps, deadlines, and supporting documentation.
