Job Description

Role Overview

As an ECOP/COP-qualified Insurance Agent, you will operate from our Nairobi County office, working directly with clients to assess their risk profiles and recommend suitable insurance products. Your day-to-day work involves walking customers through policy options, processing applications and renewals, and maintaining precise documentation that keeps every engagement compliant and audit-ready. You are the bridge between complex insurance regulations and everyday client decisions, making your ability to explain coverage clearly essential to our continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct one-on-one client consultations to identify coverage needs across personal, commercial, and specialist insurance lines.
  • Present tailored insurance solutions with clear explanations of terms, conditions, exclusions, and premium structures.
  • Manage the full policy lifecycle, from initial application and underwriting support to renewals, endorsements, and claims assistance.
  • Maintain accurate client records and follow up systematically on expiring policies to secure timely renewals.
  • Apply knowledge of regulatory compliance, including law enforcement procedures and evidence handling, to ensure all client interactions meet legal and industry standards.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly while identifying cross-selling and upselling opportunities within the existing client base.
  • Meet monthly sales and performance targets while keeping service quality and client satisfaction at the core of every interaction.
  • Stay current on insurance products, market trends, and professional development requirements to maintain your ECOP/COP certification.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Mandatory ECOP (Certificate of Proficiency) or COP qualification in insurance, as issued under Kenya’s insurance regulatory framework.
  • At least two years of experience in client-facing insurance sales, brokerage, or advisory roles.
  • Strong working knowledge of insurance policies, claims procedures, underwriting basics, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili, with the ability to simplify complex insurance terms for diverse clients.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills for building long-term trust, negotiating terms, and handling objections with professionalism.
  • Proven problem-solving ability and a proactive, target-driven approach that thrives in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Familiarity with law enforcement, criminal investigations, or evidence handling is advantageous for supporting regulatory compliance related to specialised insurance lines.
  • Additional certifications or a commitment to continuous professional development in insurance is a plus.

What We Offer / Why Join

This role is compensated through a monthly commission structure, with an attractive performance-based incentive programme rewarding consistent achievement and high-quality client outcomes. You will join a team where initiative is recognised, and your professional growth directly reflects your results.
