Role Overview
This teaching position calls for a dedicated classroom educator who will deliver competency-based lessons, track learner progress, and contribute to the broader school community. Day to day, you will plan and facilitate lessons in line with the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and Competency-Based Education (CBE) frameworks, maintain accurate records, and actively participate in co-curricular activities that support holistic student development. Your role matters because it directly shapes the quality of instruction and the overall learning environment for students across multiple grade levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that align with CBC and CBE guidelines, adapting materials to suit diverse learner needs.
- Assess and monitor student performance through assignments, tests, and informal evaluations, then use the results to improve your teaching strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and developmental progress in accordance with school and Ministry of Education policies.
- Integrate ICT tools and digital resources into classroom instruction to enhance learning outcomes and support student engagement.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment that encourages active participation and mutual respect.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, parents, and school administrators to address student concerns and reinforce positive behaviour.
- Coordinate or support co-curricular activities such as sports, clubs, music, or academic competitions, taking on assigned supervisory duties as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide events, contributing actively to the school’s growth.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Must be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and hold a valid teaching certificate.
- A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in a recognised school setting is required.
- Hold at least a P1 Certificate or an upgraded Diploma in Education from a recognised institution.
- Strong familiarity with both the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and Competency-Based Education (CBE) approaches is essential.
- Working knowledge of ICT and the ability to apply digital tools in teaching is an added advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write clear lesson plans, reports, and learner feedback.
- A demonstrated willingness to take part in co-curricular programmes and school community activities beyond regular classroom hours.
